There are many great reasons to hire a postpartum doula to support you after you have your baby.

* You desire sleep
* You have other children to tend to
*You want support with chores and errands
* Your family is unavailable
Women are not supposed to birth and mother alone. We are meant to be part of a community, or the village as it used to be called.
I can help you by tending to your needs, so you can tend to your baby. Mothering the mother is what I do.
My Brief Story
I became a postpartum doula in 1991, two years after my first son, Matthew, was born. It was a rough patch in my life. Having been deserted at 7 months pregnant, by my now deceased ex-husband, I was alone and scared. I felt ashamed. Having been a tomboy all my life, I was scared to death to care for this tiny human, and I was the only one to do it. Matthew taught me how to be a mother, and that I actually did know what to do. With support and encouragement from my Mom (my postpartum doula), I was able to feel confident in my mothering. At that time we had no idea what a doula was. Who knew then that I would devote my life to supporting and protecting the MotherBaby couple.
It would be my honor to serve you.
I am certified by DONA International.
